E36 light guys help

Ive done the conversion and it looks good, but I have some questions:

1) Where should the lights be aimed? or shining on the road .how do i know if they are aimed properly?

2)I think i got them aimed right but i have a small 1/4" gap from the front of the lights to the grille edge and the side to the cornerlight how do fix these and still have them aimed?

3) Craig and/or Brandon, how do i mold in my lights like you have them I know you use a maxima headlight cover but how do you do it?

Any help would be great thaks in advance

im not toally sure but i think only brandon's are "one piece" i think he just removed the cover on the headlights and corner lenses and sealed them up with the clear cover...

craig is using UK corners that are a darker tint so they look one piece.

there is not set way to do this you just have to use a little imagination. Look at what needs to be cut mark it and do it.

I must admit that the cut and seal looks awseome but I think for now I wont do it. Theres just something about cutting up 200 dollars worth of lights that doesnt settle with me as long as i can get rid of those gaps i have on the sides ill be happy. The hood gap doesnt bother me at all.

yea dude, actually what did you do on the bottom side on your lights, because there is only that one tab that sticks out on the covers, so it leaves to gaps on either side. i just cut little peices of plexy and siliconed em in there, i was wonderin what you did..

Mine isnt perminent yet...I just have weather stripping in there to fill the gap right now. I was planning on doing my own covers and mold them but have been doing body work lately and havent had time to worry about it(I have the front end done and hopefully the quarter panel will be done soon). I will probably use fiberglass to finish up the job by extending the lip of the e36 housing so I can fasten it and still be able to take the cover off if I need to...we will see.

Damion if you get the covers you dont have to cut the e36 housing for them to look decent...they will look ok if you just put them over the existing housing(top pictures on my site)just not as good as if you cut the lens. That is the only way to get rid of the gap unless you do body work that I know of.

Also back to your first post...I aimed my lights by using the haynes manual for adjustment procedure.
