Power Cord to amp question!
#1
I have a '92 SE and I am wanting to run the power cord from my battery to my amp. Can anyone tell me if there is a hole in my firewall? Where does the powercord feed through to the inside of my car. Thanks for the help. ~Steve

I asked the same question a while back. the answer was (and i did this and it worked) take your innerfender wall out on the drivers side from the outside of the car. then you'll see a gramet (its the one to pop the hood) use that to run the wire through. youll have to run a metal wire through first(hanger) probably and tape the actual wire to it and pull it through.

Power wire - 2 more options
1. The main cable bundle coming through the firewall at the driver's side is extremely crowded and tight. If you route your new cables to the passenger side, you need to find the area where a different cable harness enters on that side. It is not in the foot well, you will have to reach in through the opening where a couple of relays are mounted. You can reach it from the inside (with some difficulty, and from the engine side. There is a huge grommet there. The hole is similar of the same as the driver side, but instrad of 100 wires going through, it is only a tiny bundle. When I ran my first wires there (2 x 10 ga), I ended up dislodging it, rather than puncturing it, but it worked. If you do this, the first time you go through, run some pulling wires, and run a pulling wire every time you pull an additional wire through. Then LEAVE one there when you are done, in case you want to change something in the future. You will be glad you did. (I left my fenders on)
2. If you want a clean install, or plan to run anything like a 4 gauge or thicker, I suggest you drill (or have a stereo ship drill for you as they have all the close quarter tools) a hole next to your clutch cylinder. If you look in the engine side you will see a piece of firewall there, that you can also see from the inside of the car. I had a shop drill a 1" hole so I could fit a really clean looking plastic cable protector, with a rubber "iris" contraption that clamped and sealed the cable upon tightening. I got it either from Parts Express or MCM, I forget.
A hole slightly bigger than your cable with a rubber grommet will work as well.
Good luck.
