Painting Interior

I'm looking for some cheap stuff to do so I've decided to paint some of my interior. I have a maroon interior, so what color do you think would look good?

I'm thinking silver, but is there anything else that might look good?

I'm goign to paint the triangle vents on the dash, the trim pieces around the door locks at the top of the door, and most likely the defrost vent at the top of the dash.

Also, could someone give me instructions on removign the dash vents and the defrost vents?

Thank you.

Maroon is going to be a hard color to work with, good luck!!

And if you do decide your going to paint dont go crazy and "highlight" everything that sticks out. The fewer pieces you paint the better it will look. Have you thought about just painting the gauge face? Or just the "dash"?

O, I'm just gonna paint those things around the door locks, the long thin defrost vent, and then heat vents. I think anymore would be total overkill. I might not do the heat vents though. I dont know really. I'm gonna take a pic of my interior tomorrow and play around with photoshop though.

so im ready to paint, and of course, something is messed up. I go to the store and they wont let me buy clear coat because I'm 17. But yet I can buy the actual paint? How messed up is this world?

yeah, in some states, for all spray paint purchases. its to "cut down on graffiti" like thats gonna stop them. its been that way for years in california, i believe. i remember trying to buy some when i was like 13, im 18 now, and they didnt let me get it.

not really just for graffiti. It's mostly because they think they it will prevent kids from sniffing the aeresol cans while it is just pushing them to other assorted ventures that are even worse I mean, it's just paint people! I just want to paint the trim around my door locks for crying out loud. I got one of them done though. I'll have pics of the rest tonight probably.

So, I'm finally done. And it looks good as silver. But I went ahead and sanded it back down Silver looked good but it stood out too much so I'm just gonna do it black so it'll have a subtle effect. Pics coming this weekend.
