I just took a look at all my plugs. I had my Cattman Y for 3 years and have had the oem Plats in for for almost 35-40K. The rear bank of plugs look EXACTLY the same as the front bank. I have the dent you are talking about. Maybe mine is not as bad as yours but I didn't seem to remember much of a difference when I looked at your pics. Here's a pic of mine:
So I don't think your "dent" was the cause of the rear bank of plugs going bad.

Y-pipe dent

My dent was a HELL of alot more restrictive. I would say at least 1/3 of the diameter affected. If this was not the cause I would appreciate your theories. For those who don't know, before dynoing my car we pulled the anterior plugs. They looked good, checked my JWT intake out as well. When we ran the testing with our pipe and the Cattman pie, my car had a high speed miss and not as much h/p as she should have with the mods that are on it. I had the Cattman pipe on for approx. 10+K. Got a hell of a dent shortly after installing it. When I got to my local Nissan Mechanic he pulled the plugs, the rear electrodes were fried, almost burned up, but the front were like new. He ran every test but couldn't find out a cause of the rear bank of cylinders running lean and the front bank running normal. I then asked him if he thought that a BIG dent could do it. He isnt sure but suspects that was the case. We tested the exhaust manifold temps with the WSP y-pipe and they were the same. Theories appreciated.

Ouch...this is a dent

I think Dan answered it pretty good, if your dent looks like this one you might check it out. The dent problem is well known, the effects of a bad one...well.... it is anyones guess.

Re: Ouch...this is a dent

It doesn't look that bad but then again the middle of pipe is really pushed in! Yeah alot worse than mine. I think your theory might be valid. Just wanted to input my findings. I guess I really depends on the severity of the dent.
