Cleaning ??

On my max near the wheel well on one side there is a buildup of tar along the bottom of my max on the passenger door a little also. Anyone know what I can use to get this off? When I clean my car I can get all the dirt and stuff off but there is still this black stuff along the bottom and I believe it is tar from the road (feels like it) I do a lot of highway driving, not sure how this got on there though). Using regular car wash stuff plus scrubbing and after auto car wash this stuff is still on there. Is there any kind of tar remover cleaner I can use or something? Any help would be appreciated. Thnks in advance

Re: Cleaning ??

any chain autoparts store ie. Kragen, Autozone, Napa, Pep Boys , should carry a bug and tar remover.

Yep, bug and tar remover works great. Turtle wax makes it. A friend of mine recently called me after driving through a pudle on the hiway leftover after a bucket of roofing tar fell off a truck. They tried soap and water but that won't work for something like tar. It just smears it. I recommended this and they were lucky enough to find it at the corner gas station.
