97 Eclipse Gs-T vs. 94 Max SE

What do you guys think of this race?

My friend has the eclipse he has light 17 inch rims, blitz blow off valve upgraded clutch and a muffler, his car is a 5spd.

He runs a 9.79 best in the 1/8th mile sorry no 1/4th mile tracks close by here.

The SE max has a y-pipe intake and greddy cat back. Its 5 spd.

Who do you guys think would win in the 1/8th mile track, and who would win from a rolling start 25-100 mph??
There is a 50$ bet on this race my friend with the eclipse says he will win Easily. Im not so sure.
What do you guys think??
What does a stock gs-t run in the 1/4th?

why dont you just run the two cars to find out?

Im tired of sorting through crappy stories about kids racing some other crappy cars last night, and also people asking if they can beat a certain car,

Exactly!! If you weren't sure who would win, why did you put money down to begin with. PPL can guess all they like, especially with modded cars, who good the driver is, did the Pope sneeze 3 times today, etc. JUST RACE THE DARN CARS, and that will answer all your questions. Gotothe local dragstrip, and race several cars, in a controlled environment. Then you've got your time slip, and compare it with others.

Will be racing them tonight at the track and on the street thnks for the coments
The SE is my friends car (I know them both from work)
I have raced the eclipse before and he beat me (93 gxe) by a decent amount.
I think SE has a chance though.

Personaly I think the eclipse is a POS this car has only 56,000 miles on it and already the clutch broke(600$), the transmission gave out(1200$), and the engine blew(3000$). I have never heard of a maxima having this much problems that early in the life of the car. The kid drives it kinda hard but it should be able to handle it a little better then that. Anyways like I said race goes down tonight.

It's a mitsubishi..whaddaya expect. One would think a turbo sportscar would be more durable than that..I have worked on a ton of those cars. They crap out fairly often. But my friends 99 GS-T was damn fast! my other friends slammed GSX with 17's cornered nicely..had some hellrides in that thing! They still crap out though!

I've had WAY TOO many tickets, to race on the street, and I would recommend that no one else do the same, especially for a stupid low dollar bet. Why give your hard earned money to the cops, and insurance? Keep it to do more work on your own car. ( I do however like to go WAY out in the middle of nowhere from time to time and top the car out)

you are ****ed if he has a boost controler
by the mods u listed it sounds like if he was smart he would have one
one of the more basic first step mods
that lets him select his boost level
depending on his boost level is how bad u will get fuked
dsms are the cheeoest cars to make fast and every one undersestimates them
mine ran a 13.5 before i crashed it
and i didnt put much money in to it

what fantasy world do you live in????

the best ever recorded for a gsx/tsi awd is 14.5 bone stock. the average for bone stock is low 15's high 14's

the gs-t is usually a half second slower.

get your facts right before posting.

the Max if driven right should win if not be dead even.
The max will have more of a chance from a roll. in 1/8 mile it should be close he may even squeeze in the win, but from a punch it should be good.
