i keep hearing this "whining" from the engine...like its laboring or something...it only happens when i go above 75...im worried it may be the tranny! any input from you guys would be much appreciated...lemme know whats up...

 

Could you be more specific? It would also help if you told us what engine and transaxle you have. Finally, your engine is laboring. It is moving 3100 lbs+ of car plus you down the highway at 75 mph.

 

Heck I know pushing the car 2 miles an hour, empty, and I am huffin and puffin, and after any kind of distance I start to make really weird cursing noises.

 

the car is an 89 se homomatic...the sound is very slight, but when i roll up all the windows (or at least the 2 that actually work), and turn off my stereo, i can hear it. The best way to describe "it" is as a whining sound...as the rpm's increase, so does the pitch of the sound...its really weird, i just know it wasn't there before...

 

tires perhaps?
