just put 17 inches rims on

question..i used to have stock rims and i just put my friends 17 " rims on..they are definitley wider than the stock.. i was wondering if i would get more road feel when i drive....and my friend had it on his 92 se and i have a gxe..i dont think they rubbed on his car.so that means they shouldnt rub on my car rite...i also have low profile tire on them too.. one more question...how long does low profile tires last..thanks.. i think the size is 225 40 17 thanks

Use the search to find answers for general questions.

I have 17s on my 94 GXe with 225/40 tires and no rubbing at all, I love em.

Performance tires won't last as long as all-weather tires, but it all depends on how hard you are on them. Drive like a "normal" person and the tires should last you a long time.

Re: just put 17 inches rims on

your 225/40/17s will not last as long as a tire that was meant for your rim. you should be running with 45 as your sidewall. oops.

you will feel the road more since the tire is a low profile tire, less cushion to absorb the bumps.
