my brake light didn't come on when i needed new brake pads, i wish it would have because the rotors were messed up from the worn brakre pads. that i had to but two new rotors... is ther something wrong with my ecu? and also when one of my injector was bad, the check engine light didn't come on so is something wrong with the ecu or something else any help would be appereciated.. thanx

Nothing is wrong to your ecu. If your brake fluid resevoir has too much brake fluid in it, no matter how worn your brake pads are the brake warning light won't come on. You're supposed to fill it to the correct level, as the pads wear the fluid level goes down and when it passes a certain point the light comes on as a warning. Brake pads also squeak as an indication that they want to be changed.

well like sudesh said, if you overfilled it, the light would go off even if the pads are worn..so just make sure it's at the proper level, unless you know you filled it to the proper level, and you should be good. everyone's talking about timing belt problems and brake problems these days...scaring me, i need to replace both...

It depends on if the actual injector itself is leaking or if it's o-ring leaking. I don't know if the engine light will go on to warn you if the injector(s) itself is leaking, but you can always try and pull codes from the ecu to see if you have a leaky injector. I know that many nissans have leaky injectors and o-rings, i've never heard about the engine light comming on to notify the driver of a problem.

The brake light on our 92 SE flashed and then stayed on solid a while ago. Turns out the alternator has brushes inside of it that had fallen off. The alt was bad. FYI.

just another FYI.
could also be the sensor/sensor wiring for the e-brake, sometimes I have to slam mine down to get the light to go off even when the brake is disengaged. usually it's just the fluid though, could also be the sensor for that. hope this helps.
