i'm having a tough decision on brakes
i'm paying dex 500 bucks for his rims, so the only mods i'm planning on doing this quarter are brakes, cause i need them anyway. www.irotors.com can do brembo slotted and drilled rotors for 250 and greenstuff pads for 100. so it would be 350 all the way around plus shipping. My best friend that wholesales can do brembo drilled and slotted front rotors with matched pads and drilled and slotted rotors in the rear and a set of pads (not together like the front ones) for around 430 shipped. i'm debating on which way to go. I don't know if there's a difference, but the one's j can do come directly from Brembo. the fronts come in a set with the pads and come in this cool little suitcase kit looking thing. the rears don't have matched pads like that, but still. anyway, what do you guys think?

don't worry about where to get the rotors, if they're both brembo.. what you should worry about is what PADS are there. I've had some excellent pads and some horrible pads. find out the brand of pad they're trying to sell you in each kit and let that be your choice.
although for $80 difference, there'd better be some damn good pads in that set.

i currently have greenstuff pads (can't wait to get them off) on my car as we speak and i can't stand them for a number of reasons....them main one being they release a lot of brake dust, not a lot, but A LOT!! I'll wash my car at the car wash, leave to go str8 home, by the time i get there, my wheels are not looking so fresh and so clean...i know brake pads release brake dust, but this is ridiculous!!! Another thing i've noticed is that if i'm on the highway and doin about 70 mph, I can gently apply my brakes to slow down as i approach an exit, by the time i reach the light and have to completely slow down, my brakes feel as though they're extremely hot almost like they're meltin and they have a problem grippin the rotors...its strange, but i've only experienced this with the greenstuff pads....i've inspected my brakes and have had them looked at many times and mechanics always tell me they're fine and i still have a bunch of pad left and nothin is wrong wit my rotors..............make a long story short, i'd try a different pad other than the greenstuff pads...just my opinion

I don't know about the brembo x-drilled slotted stuff
all i know is that I am gonna invest in some Brembo normal brakes...I am looking into the EBC greenstuff brakes, and stainless steel brake lines...
that is my next expense. its not cheap esp the ss brake lines but i htink its ognna be well worth it.

greenstuffs should be okay.. I wouldn't recommend redstuff though. I had some on my car and they took too long to warm up, then had a very noticeable heat range. after a few hard stops, I'd get them too hot and they'd fade back out. drive another 2-3 minutes and they'd be fine again, so recovery was good, but they took too long to warm up for me. I would only recommend for auto X or light road-course use.
for street, green should be great.
as for whoever was having the brake fade problems... when was the last time you COMPLETELY bled the brake system? if your fluid is more than a year old, then you need to change it. you can't drive a car very hard on old, black fluid. just won't work.

Also if your brake pads are very worn(ie.. not much pad material), it will make your pads fade noticably also.

Cross-drilled Stillen rotors (They use Brembo blanks)
Motul 600 fluid
and BF Goodridge S/S braided brake lines
I'd highly suggest getting the s/s lines, they make a world of difference. It's amazing.
I'm impressed with my setup, however the pads do take a few minutes to warm up. But sheesh, talk about no brake fade at all.
