Carbon Fiber hood GD production to be completed

For those of you that purchased a CF hood from Fiber Images in the David Cohen group deal, the hoods will go into production next week. The mold is already done and they expect to pop out 2-3 hoods a week. Expect for some of these hoods to be shipped out next week. I think it will be on a first come first serve basis, so those of you who pay off your balance first will receive your hoods first. I am checking back with Connie next week on the status of these hoods, but in the meantime, those of you who want to pay off the balance of your hoods can call Connie at Fiber Images. Tell her your name and that you are with the third gen maxima hood deal. Make sure to confirm your options on your hood.

Call:

Connie @ 661-274-9500

I believe that you can pay with either credit card or MO/Cashier's Check. Double check with Connie before you make your payment though.

Thank you all for your participation,
David C.

Everybody gave me $225 originally. The deal was $450 plus shipping if everybidy remembers correctly. So the total balance is going to be $225 plus shipping or $325 plus shipping if you decided to get colored carbon fiber. If you want to get a hood outside of the GD, it will probably run you $650 plus shipping. This is just a guess. I do not have a definite price yet. This is just a guess. I do not have a definite price yet. Call Fiber Images to get an actual quote...

Thanks,
David C.

Yeah, you are way too late!! I posted a thread saying that the GD would be closing back in April. If you want one, you will have to pay $650 plus shipping. We paid $450 plus shipping.

Sorry,

Too bad they can't simply pour another hood into the mold. Oh well their loss.

Make sure you guys leave a message. I know that they're hard to contact, but I can still get in touch with them about once a week. They do return their messages. You just have to be persistant. Otherwise, you can email them at fiberimages@earthlink.net. Sorry about the hassle...

fiberimages really is sorta difficult in general
if'n you guys have heard about turbo95max's problems with them,
you'd probably never have bought a hood from them in the first place

basically he bought the hood from them..
when it arrived, we put it on and it had fitment problems,
the hood wouldn't even shut right until we moved stuff around

after it was all and done, it still rubbed a bit on the edges,
had a bulge, and a blemish. all normal 4th gen problems

so he's driving around with his brand new shiny hood
at about 30-40m mph and the thing flies up for no reason

2 problems with that
first, the hood shoudlnt be flying up period
second, the secondary latch doesn't do CRAP, which I've heard is a
problem on those FI hoods

now we're sitting at his house looking at the car and the hood
the car is a mess, dent on the roof, fat dent on the A pillar
the carbon fiber has separated from the fiberglass backing, and
some parts of the backing have cracked in half

called up fiberimages, dealt with Connie, a woman who obviously
is angry at the world. (Albert's wife) anyway, she gives a lot of
attitude, blames us for the bad install, claims that we're required
to put hood latches on the car (which is funny, because carnal_c30
had his hood installed by FI themselves and they didnt put latches on
it)

so basically after a lot of phone calls and issues we got them to
refund the money on the hood. unfortunately they will not fix
any of the damages on the car, leaving turbomax looking like turbodent

we shipped the hood out about 2 months ago, and they've recieved it
for some reason, they havent sent out the refund yet

now isn't that cute?

there are plenty of people without pins in the cF hood

heck, carnal C30 had his hood installed by fiberimages themselves
and they didn't put hoodpins on his car

Dude I JUST talked to Connie! Got her on the first try too, which was a surprise.

Anyways...

If you want to pay off your hood with CC here's what you need to do (what she told me at least). I'm pretty sure this goes for everyone considering she didnt ask my name, address, or anything:

Fax them...

Write out that you're authorizing FI to charge your credit card and sign it. Include your name and copy of your DL, and also the CC # and I assume type (Visa, etc).

Fax number - 1-661-274-9555

From what I can gather everyone's balance is $325 after the initial $225 we put down. It looks like their not actually calculating each shipping cost, but rather just tacking on $100 for everyone's order.

I asked her if she needed my City to determine my shipping cost and she said nope it's standard $325. Heh

Why?

Why would you install a ten pound hood without hood pins. Obviously, it would not take a whole lot of force for oncoming air to rip a carbon fiber hood off of a car. I've never seen a street car without hoodpins on a carbon fiber hood....
