Woah...

Good job on those

How much would you want for a set? Have you got any other ideas for other stuff you could make?

Once again I'll have to sit down and figure out the prices for a set of 4. Once again the more interest I get in it, and the more I can make at once, the cheaper it is. My next project is going to be to make replacements for just the rotating ends of the intermittent wipers, and the headlight switch. I'll probably make those tomorrow or Friday.

The automatic shifters are out of the question. I'm a machinist, not a mold maker. Sorry. I made my door locks using manual mills, but this weekend I will sit down and progam them on the CNC, and see how long they will take to run, then I'll have a price for everyone.

I just rough polish the aluminium with Scotchbrite. I have made some aluminium molds for my polyurethane casting business, and I polish those with Metal Polish from Thrifty Auto Supply. When you polish it with that, it turns it to a mirror finish.

BTW Once I get the door locks programmed, and priced, I will then take order for the shifters and the locks.

I have one problem with the interior design of the max. Theres NO FREAKIN cup holders. Those 1/4" deep rings in the glove compartment are in no way a cup holder. What was the designer thinking when that idea came into his mind, I mean, every other part of the interior looks great except for those dang cup holders.

I'll look into a cup holder. Unfortunately for us 3rd gens it won;t be anything fantastic (where do you put it?) How about possibly making a permenant metal insert that goes in that drawer? Or how about one that goes inside the armrest? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Nice!

The only place I can see that would work for a cup-holder would be something that would clamp to the glove box door, or maybe somewhere on the dash. The arm rest insert would interfere with shifting.

Can you machine parts that are already created?

After looking at the drawer in the dash, it would really only fit one American drink (or as it is set up, two Japanese tea cups). The holder would have to be something clip on, that you could store.

Right, you could make something like those drink holders that go on your door. I don't know if they still sell them, but we used to have some that go right into the slot for the window. Only problem there is the cup is right where it will splash you if you hit a bump!

Maybe something like that to clip on the drawer, and hold two drinks.

It took me all of less than an hour to install all 4 door locks. You just need to remove 4 - 6 screws in each door panel, pull the panel up, unscrew the old lock, screw the new one on, your done.
