I was thinking...on my old Firebird the clearcoat on the rims was royally screwed...so i took some paint stripper and stripped of the clearcoat and polished em out. My question is, can that be done to the maxima rims? I know the center cap would be a minor prob..since its plastic..but has anyone done this?

Polishing rims

I did. I used an abrasive pad to remove the plastic coating from my rims. It was fairly abrasive. I also purchased a round wire brush that would attach to my electric drill. I then moved down to finer abrasives and eventually to a polish. Krylon clear coat when completed. You have to keep applying the Krylon. It is not very durable.
