Using a VTEC controller on VTC??
Using a VTEC controller on VTC??
I was not plaining on doing this but would a VTEC controller
work to control when the VTC kicks in. I know that VTC is
controlled by grounding it. But is VTEC controlled the same way?

when i looked at the directions for my brothers apex vtec controller it stated that it supplied a 12v+ to the vtec solenoid. to make it work you would have to ground your vtc's then hook the controller up to the + wires on the VTC solenoids.
however you prolly wont see much gain from this aspect of the controller. matt93se (i think) fooled around a little with the switchover point and found that nissan found the best one.
my point is it's possible but it may not be worth it. i think ignition timing would be a better source of hp gains on a VE.
my 2 cent.

we actually fooled around with the timing on the power valve, but the VTCs will probably come out about the same.
the only way you'll get any benefits from doing stuff like this would be to change cams, which would have a different torque curve and "need" resetting the VTC engagement point.
it's also as easy as a $50 shiftlight. don't know how much the VTEC controllers are, but you can buy a shift light for $50 or a NOS window switch to do the same things. probably cheaper than the VTEC controller.
