Courtesy Clear Corners

I sorry to inform you but I got the Courtesy Clears and after six months of Seattle weather the lens is separating from the base my passenger side clear corners.

From my opinion the Courtesy and APC ones are the same. I called Courtesy to ask if the warrant their products and they told me it is only warranted if they installed it since they figure customers intentionally tampered with it to get a new ones.

When I first got mine I painted the grey edge black using modeling paint, which made it blend in with the headlights, and still has not faded off.

They are quite cheap now I think ~$45 buck last time I saw a post so I think I'll just order new ones when the summer comes. But this time I think I'm going to superglue the lens to the base just for security.

Hope that helps.

hehe...all of us have the same problem with the bottom of the lens pulling out...i noticed that all the 3rd gens including myself at the NE meet had this problem...

as far as where to get them...i have had 2 sets...one from http://www.robocar.com (got em for 40 there) and one from courtesy (pd 45)....they are both the same..i have seen others and they are all the same so i think that they are all manufactured by the same company....yes they all come with the grey molding and like SeaMAX said, model paint fixes that easily...

Seamax...

how were you able to get that BOSE into your car? Did you have BOSE before? I'd like to get a double-din BOSE but heard that it wouldn't fit/work. I have the BOSE cassette playerNow I see that you have one...what can you tell me about it? Thanks!

Re: Seamax...

When I bought my car it came with a Bose Non-CD single Din unit. The lower part of the unit was a stow-away compartment.

I then upgraded the Bose Single-Head unit to a Bosed Double Din CD unit from a 92 Maxima that I got from a junkyard. The harness was the same and it was a simple installation. Just take out the single din unit and stowaway compartment and plug the new double din head onto the fatcory harness.

I then bought a 95 Maxima Bose CD Double Din unit from a Maxima owner on the board, only knowing for sure that the unit would fit, but not knowing if the harness would.
As expected the harness was different but guess what. All the wires were the same, every single one. So I just needed to get a harness that would fit the 95 head unit. I order one from cartoys.com. I got the harness for the 95 unit and then lined up the wires to my 91 Maxima factory harness. I then cut the wires for the factory harness, put clips on the wire heads, and inserted them into the 95 unit harness. Some people choose to solder the cut wires straight to the wires on the 95 (or new) harness but I didn't have a soldering iron otherwise it would have been much quicker and easier that way. Then it's a simple matter of plugging the harness back onto the head and reinstalling the head.

The brackets for the headunits are the same for the 95 Double Din and the 91 Double Din.

Re: Seamax....

No Problem. If you need the wire diagram go to a local radio Shack and look at the harness the sell for the Nissan Maximas. On the package is the diagram ofthe wires and what they are for.
