Speedometer problems

I am having problems with my speedometer and odometer. About three weeks ago the high pressure hose on my power steering unit failed. When I picked it up from the garage my speedometer and odometer were no longer working. They checked the speed sender and told me that all connections were fine and that it was sending a signal. The speedometer works intermittently for the first few minutes that the car is running and then it goes to 0 and that is it until the next day when the car is completely cold. What should I do ?

Re: Speedometer problems

If you look directly below the Brake master cylinder, attched to the transmission there is a harness, not the big one. There is a small harness (brown I think) that is attached to the tranny, this is what sends the signal to the speedo, you can unplug it try cleaning it out and plugging it back, this may help.
