97 Purple/Blue Maxima Totaled: *PARTING OUT!!*
97 Purple/Blue Maxima Totaled: *PARTING OUT!!*
So check it: after Thanksgiving, I got T-Boned at like 45mph in the back right door and it skewed the entire frame. Minimum repair cost is around $5k, so obviously I'm going to buy a new car and part out whatever I can from this one to try and make SOME money (no, I don't have collision insurance, so I just fqd myself). The entire car was extremely well taken care of, inside and out. I LOVED my Max! The interior was also extremely customized, so many parts are different/modified from what you may expect. As for engine, I'm 2nd owner, my mom was first, so it's been pampered forever. Only at about 122k miles. EVERY part of this car is officially up for grabs right now. Depending on if I get another Maxima or an i30 as my next car (I'll decide within the next week or two), that determines if the interior stays with me or goes. But for now, please give me offers on everything, so I can gauge which direction I want to go with everything. Engine parts, the entire engine, interior parts, electronic parts, lights, body panels, sunroof, etc, it's all available. The only thing you won't want is the back right door. You can PM me, but I'd prefer just direct emails at bfortenb@mail.usf.edu. I live in the Tampa, FL area, right across from USF. Local pickups are preferred, but I will definitely mail anything requested. As for prices, just give me reasonable offers. Please don't hustle me, I'm a starving (car-less!) college student just trying to salvage something from a very unfortunate financial disaster. But by the same regard, I'm def not looking for premium prices. I'd rather someone on the forums get a part than the junkyard (which, btw, offered me $150 for the entire car...) OKAY, so here are some pictures to give ya an idea...

for the record, the Y-Pipe, B-Pipe, speakers, navigation, bluetooth, and (lol) fog machine are not for sale.
some things I know off hand that are usually pretty popular grabs: yellowtop, knock sensor, 02 sensors, window switches, ext. door handles, alternator, grill, headlights, taillights, turn signals, gauge cluster, ... and so forth.
with the leather seats, I'm about 75% sure I want to sell them. I just want to wait until I get my next car in case it's a Maxima with cloth seats so i can swap them. So, please, if you are local and want tan leather seats in very respectable condition, PLEASE let me know!! I'll be very very fair with price, especially for a trade for cloth seats.

oh yea... whew... i just keep talking...
if anyone wants the custom A Pillars or custom fiberglass kick panels, they are for sale... just without the speakers. Pretty standard sizes though. 6.5" woofer, 1.25" tweeter I think.

The Yellow Top, as of right now, is dead. Since the door wouldn't "close", the int lights wouldn't go off and it died in the body shop parking lot. I'm sure it'd spring back, those things are tanks, but regardless, it's like 30lbs and def not worth shipping, ya know? For local people... $10?
Gauge cluster, corner lights, taillights, I don't know, what are they worth?
lol, I'm serious, just whatever is relative market value.
Also, please be aware that the reverse lights have 4 purple LEDs in each, as do the front clearance (the white ones) lights.
also, please be aware... Dimmer and Cruise both have purple LEDs in them instead of the factory... uh... green, was it? can't honestly remember.

no, Pioneer sucks. It's an Eclipse.

For kick panels:
that's a tough question. I put a lot of time and effort into them and they are built like tanks. Extremely strong and durable, and aimed just right for good imaging. I honestly would feel like I was cheating myself if I let them go for less than $50 for the pair, just because I know how well they're made and that I used to charge around $150 for a pair custom made of that quality caliber. I *may* keep them for the next car, but depends on if they'll fit.
As with anything else guys, MAKE ME AN OFFER PLEASE!!! Let me know what you like and how much it's worth to ya. if it's not enough, I'll tell ya! hah!

dude, that sucks. i got hit in the same spot over the summer. luckily it was jut body damage-2 doors and a fender. are you in the corps? and how much for the knock sensors (assuming they're good)
Yea, those are worth like $20, right? I'd be okay with that. $25 shipped, is that fair? Do you want the dimmer & cruise switch as well?

Sounds good, no cracks in it right?
I said this earlier, the mid is a standard 6.5" and tweeter is, I believe, 1.25". I can't *promise* that another set of speakers will fit into these holes, but I mean... unless you have some weird funky speakers, i can't imagine why they wouldn't fit.
nope, not military. my dad is retired air force, if you were asking because you saw the base tag on the windshield. I love the commissary.
college budget+cheap food=big smiles.knock sensor is about 6-8 months old, and definitely in working condition. I only want half of what they are new, but I have a local considering it... so PM me and I'll get back to ya, I guess.
For a local pickup, the hood would be worth it, especially to be repainted, but ... naaah, lol, sorry, I don't wanna ship it.
What do you mean, the trim along the top of the windshield? The plastic weather seal stuff? Cuz that doesn't come off... Or do you mean my tint? lol, cuz that doesn't come off either. You can have the whole windshield if you want, it's tinted 50% with 20% sunstrip on top of that.

but then again... I'm not shippin a windshield.
btw, nice car. very sexy maxima. i dig the rims, not flashy, but complimentary.
I'd be interested in the kick panels. They already match my interior. PM me if your still willing to accept 50 for the pair. Also interested in your A-Pilars if they're available. PM me a total cost for everything (kick panels and A-pillars) shipped to Canada. M4J 3V3
Thanks. The rubber weather stripping. It comes off. It's held on with clips. See what you can do, you'd have to ship it in a long box though so that it wouldn't bend because the inside is metal and will crease. I'll give you $30 shipped for both.
PM with me a offer.

shipping a hood is madd expensive, and honestly, my hood isn't that nice. the clear coat is fine, and it's still smooth and shiny, but the paint itself is very foggy. looks like it's oxidized, but it's actually just the paint crappin out from the engine heat. it was a cheap repaint from maaco or something some years ago when someone backed into my mom and she got a new hood out of it.
