yea it will fit a 97. but i dont remember if it makes a difference if your car is an auto or manual. the ecu came from a manual.

as i recall this ecu wouldn't fit a 99 since they have a different control system. Im not sure what would happen if you change out the wiring harness.

If you use a 97+ ECU in a 95 i belive it will throw EVAP related codes as 95's have a different EVAP system.

You can use a auto ecu in a MT car, but not the other way around.

If you use a 97-98 ecu in a 95-96 you will get a P0136, same goes with a 95-96 ecu in a 97-98. 99's are out of luck i believe some work must be done to get a 96-98 ecu to work in a 99.
