FS: 18" 6th Gen Wheels, HID projector retrofits, iPod AUX jack
FS: 18" 6th Gen Wheels, HID projector retrofits, iPod AUX jack
My trusty Maxima, which served me well for many years, was recently totaled when a friend of mine backed into it while it was parked. I was sad to see it go... I was still getting compliments on it up until the accident. And it sucks having a car payment...
Anyway, I now have several items I was able to pull from the car that are now for sale. I used to be a regular visitor of Maxima.org, so I wanted to give org members the first crack at my stuff. Apparently, per forum rules, I have to sell them all in one thread. I apologize in advance for the sloppy writing. Here goes:
First up: Wheels -- genuine 6th Gen 18" wheels. They are wrapped in low-profile 225/40WR-18 Kumho ECSTA ASX tires. The tires are have about 15K miles on them. Note that this wheel/tire combo is best suited for a 4th Gen Maxima. They might also work on a 3rd Gen or 5th Gen, but the tires are definitely too small for a 6th Gen. There are some scrapes and scuffs on three of the wheels, but it isn't really noticeable from more than a few feet (see pictures of car). Please note that these look best with a drop (which I have). These wheels run very smoothly when balanced. I am willing to ship, with or without tires, but would rather not (FYI: I'm in Kansas City). Buy pays actual shipping costs, whatever that ends up being. Asking $500 OBO.
UPDATE: WHEELS SOLD!!

Next: retrofit HID lights. These were damaged in the accident. One light is perfectly fine, one was crushed. These are normal 4th Gen (1998) housings with retrofit Audi A6 projectors and bulbs. Because these are projectors these have a nice cut-off with no glare. The crushed projector might be salvageable, but it might not be. The bulb that was in the crushed projector probably doesn't work, either. The other side and bulb worked fine when after the accident. Note that both these are bi-xenon HIDs (both high and low beams are HID). Installation requires the cutting of one of the stock headlight jacks, so once you start installation, there's no going back... unless you want to soldier the cut wires back. Like I said, one side was still working, but I make no guarantees, as this is pretty much a homemade harness. I can help some with installation, but I am by no means an expert. Trust me when I say this, IT IS A PROJECT. And there's a chance it may not work. Fair warning. Other than what was described, it has everything you need... ballasts, wiring, etc. $150 shipped OBO.

Next: probably the easiest sell, my USASpec iPod kit... model PA11-NIS. Has everything you need, including the RCA-to-headphone cord (which generally doesn't come with the kit). It has two connections: one iPod Dock connection and one regular 3/4" headphone jack. With the dock connector you can control your iPod through the stereo, and you can hook up whatever else you might want with the normal headphone jack. Both can be used (though not simultaneously). Sound quality is great, works great. $80 shipped OBO.
UPDATE: IPOD KIT SOLD!!

Last: 1998 Nissan Maxima Owner's Manual. 'nuff said. $20 shipped OBO.

I accept PayPal, checks, or cash. If you want to pick any of this up, I am in Kansas City, KS. PM me with offers. Thank you.

I'm not 100% positive, but it seems so. I will say that I had it hooked up to a Bose unit. Please note, buyer is responsible for ensuring compatibility:

There was frame damage and the car was totaled by the insurance company. It was still drivable until the body shop took it apart (before the car was totaled). Obviously, the body shop wasn't going to put it back together, so I took the money and ran.
I know you've sold the ipod kit already, but i was wondering would such a kit work on a 96 maxima? reason I am asking is because on the .pdf file that we view directly on the USA ipod kit sit, it says maxima 99-01, but those are 2 different gens of maxima..
if you can, respond via PM..
thanks

could you post more pics of the smashed up projector

i will send more pics. the projector is pretty busted... but i just looked on eBay and saw some projectors for pretty cheap. one set is $4.20 with 2 days left (obviously, those will go up). another auction has one for $58 buy it now and another has two for $100 buy it now. just search "A6 projector" and you'll find them.
I gotta say, this is definitely a steal just for the parts, even if the one projector is busted. you could get working for $200-$250, which is very good for retrofit, bi-xenon HIDs.
thanks for the pics, I'm gonna pass on the projectors the damaged light looks to be in salvageable shape but since I've never done a retro I think it would be smarter for me to get a dif set.
good luck with the sale.

I'm almost certain it did. Is it not for you? I have an Acura TL now and the DICE iPod kit I bought for that always plays the iPod when the car starts, whether I'm listening to it or not. Highly annoying.
