alright guys. who has wired these in? it looks like there's two red leads with diodes Im assuming, and a black/red. which is positive? and where do the two reds leads go? How did you guys secure the boards in place? also how did you secure the pmw board in place so its accessible for adjustments . I pm Kevlo but he doesn't get back in time I know he's busy though. Anyhow I want to get these in this weekend so feel free to chime in. Wizard where are you?

Here's what KEVLO emailed me about installation.

"You will have to adjust the dim brightness on the boards so they all match. To wire them up, you need to do the diode w/o the wire to the "clearence" light wire and the diode with the to the brake wire(red wire w/ green stripe)."

When KEVLO did my first set of LED tails, he used a hot glue gun to secure them. I plan on doing the same thing when I install these new ones in my tails for my 98 Max.

As for securing the pmw board, I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do; and I can't remember what I did on my 99 tails. Doh! Hope that helps somewhat.

Yeah it does help thanks Wiz. I have a 12v battery that I can use to test the brightness of the boards before I install them . I have all the boards installed except for one.. For some reason the pmw stopped working on one of the boards so I'll have to hold off on that one till Kev sends me a replacement. The only complaint I have about these boards is that its kind of hard to really secure the PMW in place do to the short wire it has going to the main board. So I really cant get behind tail housing with the main board in the way. You guys will see what I mean when you do yours, I Pm'd Kevlo of this. The only thing I was able to do is glob a large amount of silicone and kind of lay the pmw on it so it hardens in place near the opening for the bulb. The boards easily sit in place and are cut perfectly, I used silicone and let them sit over night to dry then back in the oven at 210 deg for about 8 min and snapped the lens back on.

you stated in your first post that these are updated from the first ones that you ran. what has been updated in these?

Also, will I need to wire in any resistors or just tap into my stock harness?

Minor board mods. Nothing major. And you will just have to tap the wires in, nothing else

Turn signals and reverse are untouched...ie they will work like you have them now. Brakes become LED.

You guys won't be disappointed. Years later, still bright as hell, and all LED's still light up. One of my favorite mods.

It is not hard to put them in. You can ask flav about it. I do not have installation pics but I can see if I can. It is 310 shipped for you. I am available if you have any questions during the installation as well.

I went to a Technical highschool and was in an electronics course so i do know a great deal about circuits and soldering etc..
please PM me if you cna work something out with me.
Thanks
