Y-Pipe...

I bought this Ebay "310297933309" Y-Pipe and headers for $191.90 shipped to my door and they rock! Also bought the stainless test pipe and catback and it sounds so sick I can't keep tires on it! lol For under $400 bucks you can have an entire stainless exhaust you never have to deal with again. A factory Y-pipe costs more then my entire setup. Riping off those crap stock manifolds should be the first thing you do. I couldn't believe how restricked the factory exhaust was. The pipe behind the factory cat was only 2" ID inside the flange. I also bored out the throttle body around 4mm and fabbed a new butterly to fit the new gaping hole. Ported the lower intake and plenum 5 mm. I didn't have the money to extrusion hone the plenum so I spent 50+ hours with a flapper to hand hone out the plenum. The heads were also ported on the intake and exhaust side and everything was port matched with machinist dye so there were no ridges between components. I have way too much time on my hands... Once you open up these VQ30DEs and polish them to a mirror shine internally they absolutely scream. Don't polish your combustion chambers though, that will kill your compression. I build onboard engine management computers that feed offsets to the ECU through the consult port for real blistering results but that's a little excessive for most end users. The good thing about running a seperate engine control computer is the car goes right back to stock ECU profiles the second you power down the PC.
Anyway, I do have my stock Y-pipe with CATS if you need it just for a factory type repair. You can have it for $25 bucks plus actual shipping. I was just going to lnock the platinum/paladium catalyst out and sell it to a freak I know that refines out the prescious metals...
Peace
