Custom 00VI W/ 70mm Throttle Body

selling, reluctantly, my 00vi for $200 plus shipping. the only involved part of the install will be rotating your DE lower: no sourcing other parts, no changing of the fuel rail and injectors, etc. you will maybe need some vacuum hose.

1: the back side is modified to be used without altering your DE coilpacks or valve cover. the egr port is also blocked off which you can see.

2: i custom modded a 2.75" (70mm) throttle body with a single 4th gen pulley and a 4th gen TPS sensor to make it plug and play. the TB is mounted via a flanged adaptor.

my 10 cent throttle body,

things to be aware of:

- this unit does not use an iacv, instead a hole was drilled into the butterfly plate, idled perfectly for me. if you want me to mod the unit to use an iacv, it'll be another $25.

- the torsion spring is kinda soft but i'll upgrade it so that's a non-issue.

- since the egr is not used, you will have to bend the egr bracket down a bit. i just wailed on it with a hammer,

-------------------------
my story

so i rebuilt a 3.0 and used HR cams (my secret on how to make them work ), that's a 2mm lift and 30* duration gain!

i went for a drive after getting the car running. it pulled like a 3.0 and then some, according to the butt-dyno at least, lol.

one thing i noticed was there was a significant gain in power around the 5k RPM mark, which i thought to mean i left the 00vi wired open. so i checked... it was closed. then it dawned on me, THE CAMS! i likey, . just for lolz i wired the 00vi open, and many lolz were had. BTW, this was all with the stock 3.0 TB.

went to the junkyard, sourced my 70mm throttle body, did my fabwork, went for a drive. still pulled hard but when i hit 5k... that little gain in cross section gives enormous gains!

anyway, i spun a bearing and developed rod-knock due to an unmentioned chocolate milk incident. and that's why i'm selling.
