FS: Sarona fiberglass hood
For sale is a Sarona Design NS-006-HD hood. Ptatohed's brother, a professional auto body mechanic, started to modify this hood but he ran out of time while visiting from out of state so it became an unfinished project. He removed the raised/staircased area at the back of the hood near the windshield and opened up the back to be a true cowl design to allow hot air to escape. He wasn’t able to finish the final smoothing/filling/sanding. Please note that this hood still needs a little work by a professional – it is not quite ready to simply be painted and installed. It's been test-fitted and with a little tweaking of the OEM hood latch, it fits pretty well. The benefits are weight reduction (10+ lb less than a stock hood), functional air intake scoops for lower engine temperatures and a unique appearance. Initially $700 plus shipping (which I think exceeded $100). (It currently sells for $650 + shipping from Sarona.) The price is $350. Pick-up only in Murrieta, CA. Link to Sarona hood.

As an added bonus, if you come and look at the hood and decide to purchase it and you have no way of getting it home, and you live within 1 hour of Murrieta, free delivery by trailer will be included.

Hood
Yeah I'm still interested... Coming from a painting back ground I would need to know the type of finishing work that need to be done. Also I'm in Long Beach so I would need to workout transportation on mt end.. What worries me is what type of shape the hood is in... Give me a straight up idea about what I'm looking at and I'll be completely honest with you about what I can do. I have a paint shop I go thru so I just have to give them a good assessment.

Thanks for your interest in the Sarona hood. Please keep in mind, the hood is already priced way less than the $700 (+$100 shipping) paid due to the minimal bit of prep work needed to be done before painting. I'm not a body shop pro, but my best guess is there is another 1-2 hours left of body preparation. No unusual or difficult prep work, just the typical prep work as if you bought any aftermarket part to put on your Maxima. Then, you'll have your painting cost but you'd have that either way. This is actually a really good deal. Please let me know if you have any questions, or would like to see the hood, or would like more pictures, etc. Thanks Evil.
