Where Can I Get Headers For My Maxima??
I posted earlier today about this and i got little response.
So who makes them and how much are they?
Also do they give you any power??
If the company has a site will you please list it.
My Car is a 1996 Maxima SE

I think that these are really new to the maxima. From what I hear they're not giving outstanding gains, aren't really considered worth the money. I heard something about custommaxima.com having them but don't quote me on that.

Until OBX can show SIGNIFICANT gains with these, no one's going to bother. The other headers and exhaust manifold work on VQs has shown NOTHING as far as gains are concerned, and you are looking about about $1000 for the cost of the part plus installation. Installation is NOT easy, and looks to be a 6-8 hour job for professionals with shop tools.
Short version: They are not worth the money. Get a Y-pipe and all the other basic bolt ons before worrying about headers which may, but probably won't show decent gains.

I agree with what everybody else has stated but a friend pointed me to this site

Wow, a "claimed" 12-14 HP increase. You realize that means 12-14 HP over STOCK. Dyno results prove that y-pipes increase 10-15 HP over stock AT THE WHEELS...ie 12-17 or so over stock at the engine. Basically the same as the "claimed" header results.
Until I see header dyno charts, it's all BS. Poorly-designed headers can actually decrease power and make the engine louder and tinnier sounding.

Don't buy headers
It definitely isn't worth it. For a NA max your gain is going to be about 1HP if that. I will find the sight of a guy that had custom headers done and that was the dyno result. Anyway, the main hinderance behind the horse power is the catalytic converters in the y-pipe that is why you have an nice 7-15 HP gain by putting on the Y-pipe. So if you want to buy a mod get a y-pipe...because the only way that headers give 7-10 hp like it claims...is if it actually takes the y-pipe cats with it when you do the swap (therefore not needing to by a y-pipe...like the ones from new Zealand)
The only way that they would be benificial is if you had bored out the exhaust manifold and were running some sort of Forced induction.
Just my 2 cents,
John
