CAI in South Florida

ok in the absence of my N2O I still need more boost but cheaper; I wanna switch my intake to cold air but I have a friend with a lowered honda accord that flooded his engine about 10 times before movin it back into the engine bay completely (because its always rainin here in the summer).

any South Florida maxima owners with CAI have any trouble floodin their engine lately?..

(my cars not lowered, but our CAI is still pretty close to the wheel right?.. increasin my chances of takin in water??..

Well i live in FL but dont have a CAI. But many times on this forum I read about peeople always concerned about rain and their CAI, but they will always say that it wont pick up the water. Also if your paranoid, or extra extra cautious, you can buy a bypass valve, so if some reason, your entire intake is submerged, the valve will open up, and get air from a different location (enginve bay).

But just think, water IS heavier than air, so its alot harder to pick up water....

Sup man, If you ever go to Tower Shops(which I know you heard of) we usually have maxima meets out there. I think one of us has a CAI.

To answer the question, you might want to get a MAF by-valve( I think thats the name), which consists of two air channels, when It senses water being sucked, it closes the bottom valve and opens the upper valve so that it picks up fresh air. IT doesnt pick up the cold air but its still air..
