wire loom in the engine bay

wire loom in the engine bay

ok well i got some of this wire loom the other day and when i tired to put it in my engine bay i noticed that the plastice wire loom doesnt open up enough to fit over the peices i want it to fit over...and when i did get it over the peices it was starting to crack the wire loom.......is there a trick to put this stuff on???

it's really hard to explain, but i slipped a piece of the corner on and "walked the rest of it" . kinda pushing down and letting the loom snap it self on. i can't put it in words on exactly how to do it, but make sure you don't drive your car for a while before doin it, cause dat engin be gettin hot

I had that problem too, so I just gave up. Im gonna buy new hoses in blue sometime.

well if i dont wanna put the loom on after i just got driving wont it be bad for the loom to sit on any rummber hoses???? i mean it does get prety hot in the engine bay..............wont that do anyhting to the plastic??

he means while putting it on while the engine is hot, you get burned ...car is cool, you wont get burned....its simple.....itll withstand the heat quite easily id suppose

yes, the looms can withstand quite the temp. i've went on 3 hour trips with them, and none have melted or dry rotted. make sure none are touching the engine block, because that part will heat 'em up so much that they just drip off all over your parts and you'll be stuck with patches of color in your engine

....sorry, it just brought back memories. purmax was rigt on when he said to "walk the rest of it". It is a little weird to explain, but once you get the end of the loom started, just slide it onto the wire/hose. You will see it keeps going on. Good luck.
