Lowering

I need some advice on lowering my Max.

I bought some Eibach springs to lower the car 50mm (2") about 8 months ago and they seemed to have raised the car not lower it.
Its still on standard shocks as i don't want to waste more money on another product that doesn't work.

Any advice on a good combination that will do the job they were intended to do and not the oppisite ???

I can't see how either the prokit or sportkit would raise your car, that can't be right.

I was wondering the same thing. in fact, all aftermarket springs would lower the car.

KYB AGX and Maxspeeds

All around I am very happy. The car does not look slamed and I get greatly improved handling.

A friend of mine has Sprints and they look very nice also.

All in all I am very pleased and I love the way my car handles compared to stock.

What i have on the car is Eibach springs with standard shocks i don't know what you mean by prokit or sportkit but they didn't lower the car anywhere near the 50mm (2") they were supposed to.

Before i put the springs on the measurement between the centre of the wheel and the wheel arch was 16" at the front and 15.5" at the rear, now the springs are on for 8 months the measurement is 15.5" at the front and 15" at the rear, thats a total drop of .5" all round with springs that were supposed to drop the car 2" in the first place.

A harsh ride is not a major concern as i'm the only 1 who drives the car but i need to lower the car as its like a 4x4

KYB GS-2's are basically OEM equivalents. If you want a performance shock, you should look at KYB AGX (fully adjustable).
I do agree that H&R springs are great springs.

the best combo would be B+G springs (1.6 drop all around) and kyb's. b+g springs have a great ride quality and a nice drop.

Interesting...

I am running Eibach Prokit Springs w/ stock shocks. The ProKit i believe is suppose to drop ure car about an inch or so... which it has done on my car. I don't understand how your springs raised ure car...

anyways here's a quick pick of what the car's height should be on ures:

As a matter of interest

(1) can the springs be put on upside down ???

Something is horribly wrong with your springs or your installation if your Eibach's are making the car look higher than it was originally. The Eibach Pro-kit set is good for at LEAST an inch, if not 1.5 inches. Maybe it's just all in your head, in which case, it's not worth arguing over, you just need to go lower. Get a set of coilovers or sprint springs coupled with some KYB AGX's and you'll be golden.

Please do not just make a one word title.

"What is a good combo for lowering the car?" would get you more responses and let people know what it is you are looking for.

I posted a simple question to see if anyone else had the same problem and if there was a solution to that problem not to be told i'm wasting peoples time thinking up problems.
If you have no positive input to my question don't reply.

Cheers for the advice but looking thruogh my last few posts one word titles have gotten me more replies/views.

For example

Lowering: Veiws: 334 Replies: 19
Bodykits: Views: 153 Replies: 6
Brake Tool: Views: 43 Replies: 6
Need Help: Views: 18 Replies: 0
My Maxima: Views: 103 Replies: 3

I know these topics are different but i still seem to get more views/replies with single word titles

It really doesnt matter how you place the springs whether upside down or upright it should lower it no matter what. Also Eibach does not make sportline for a 4th gen I don t know why it was posted. I had Eibachs and didnt like the drop at all since I had 18s. I went to intrax and then it sagged the rear now with konis no sagging just had to cut a coil in the front for a nice drop. Car still rides fine!!
