95 intake question

95 intake question

i have a 95 from what i know. the 95-96 have some kinda of sensor on top of the airbox cover. i just replaced my stock air box with a filter. i didnt get the intake. i read on a post that 95-96 intake have a whole for that sensor. should i get a 95-96 intake? do i need that sensor?

From what I have read, just tie-wrap the sensor near the intake. Some folks do put it right on the filter. I believe it's a temp sensor for the incoming air. I know my 98 doesn't have it in the box.

I have seen it posted several times so you may wanna do a quick search to make sure I am right.

I have a 95 maxima GXE and i have a stillen hi flo intake on it. the sensor you are talking about is an air temp sensor, and there are holes at the top of the intake for the 95/96 intakes for that sensor. i dont know how necesarry it is, but i didnt want to try running w/o it.

If you have a generic filter then there is no hole prefabricated for the sensor. You can either cable tie it to the filter or even insert it into the filter as you install it to the adapter. Either way it won't hurt.

i have a k&n. but it doesnt say that on it. but its a red filter. with an opening.
