You should use some lithium grease. WD-40 and other petroleum based lubricants won't hold up for very long. You can get the grease from an auto parts store or even Nissan. It's been a long time but that's what the dealership used on my hinges when my car was still under warranty services.

i used wd40 type stuff on my doors two days ago...i sprayed it on the two hinges and that one part that is in between them that moves in and out(don't know how else to describe it)...anyways, it didn't seem to help much, got rid of one part of the noise but it's still noisy to open...so i don't think just wd40 will work. just fyi. so i bet ravq is probably right with the lithium grease. let us know how it works out...goodluck

Isn't ATF bad for the paint?

Not chicken grease, axle grease, hair grease , olive oil or milk of magnesia! >>

Ravq is correct. The stuff to use is white lithium grease. Enough already.

bought some yesterday and the noise doesn't completely go away. my friend's 95 does the same noise, maybe you have to clean it all out then apply the lithium grease? it's not too annoying but enough for me to post on...

White lithium grease has worked on every squeaky door I've had.
