weird automatic shifting

Well, when I'm going at cruising speeds and it's shifting from 2nd to 3rd and from 3rd to 4th... it goes to 2k RPMS for a while, then finally to 1k RPM. It's hella weird. I think this maybe the reason why I am also getting bad gas mileage. Anybody know what's wrong?

Its normal. Its the torque convertor locking. This helps with gas milage so just relax.
