Sorry, but I doubt the system is under a lifetime warranty of any sort.

Panic mode not operational: did you hold the button down for about 2 seconds? One quick tap will not trigger the panic

Manual unlock: Reaching in and unlocking the door will not trigger the alarm BUT opening the door will. If you open the door and the alarm doesn't trigger, try all 4 doors. You might just have a faulty door switch.

One way to test the door switch: turn your dome lamp to on w/ doors (center setting), and open each door individually. Also, your switch might be moody (like mine is) ... try jiggling the door switch (covered by rubber grommet) and if the dome lamp flickers, there's your problem.

Otherwise .. sorry, you're out of luck ... get a new body control module (BCM) OR get an aftermarket alarm that's tons better than the factory's alarm.

Might be something different than my '97. If windows are down, doors locked, and you reach in and unlock the doors, alarm goes off. Do as pocketrocket suggested. Double check all your connections and fuses, too. Does the alarm work at all? Can you use the remote to lock/unlock/trunk?

It takes 30 seconds for the alarm to arm itself after you lock the car. When testing the alarm, keep this in mind.
