Anyone know how to get to the expansion valve for AC?

I think my expansion valve is sticking, and my cooling sux. I have replaced the compressor (it was going out anyway), have no leaks and the charge is good. My high side pressure is good, but the low side is too high.

Thanks

I don't know anything about the high side of AC, so can't comment on it. I do know that when I charged my '96 GXE (RIP) too much, it didn't cool worth anything. Clutch on compressor won't engage (some type of safety design ? )when too high of pressure. I released some pressure and it worked fine. Don't know if this is your problem or not, but R134 is cheap enough to try. Also, make sure your passenger side cooling fan is on at all times when you have AC on (it's supposed to be). Had that go out on my '96, too. Really gets hot if you aren't moving. I also tried a product recently in my '97 SE called Maxi-Cool (got it from Wal-Mart). It's a tune up for your AC system. Check it out, as it has made my '97's cooler, and there wasn't really anything wrong with it the way it was. I'd check on your low side having too much pressure first because that may be the problem. Hope this helps.

Dave

my compressor is engaging and so are the fans. i am pretty sure it is either a clog or a bad expansion valve.
