Usage of the term STOCK...

Ok I keep hearing people saying their car is all stock...Then I hear the cars intake and exhaust screaming as they drive away...From what I know stock means how the car was straight from factory...NOTHING modified...It ****es me off when people misuse the terms...What happen to the terms Naturally Aspired, Bolt Ons, and All Motor...What they replace them with the term stock even though they have Headers, exhaust, intake, etc. Sorry guys it just ****es me off...I just saw that Post about the 3.5SE Altima running 14.1sec saying it was 100% stock which was with a Cheapo intake but it's still modified...

Chris

sorry had to get all the frustration out......

well, things like mufflers and intakes are so popular now a days that people dont even consider them as mods i guess. Also some people want you to think they're stock so u race.

Maybe they just feel that way compared to other people they know.

For ex:

I have sprint/koni, fstb, and other stupid stuff. I consider myself stock.

Well maybe they use the term stock because either they say that so you think you can beat him since he's stock, so you'll race him. That or if you beat him while he had mods, but to save face, he said he's stock that's why you beat him.

It's OK to vent. And healthy, too. 9 out of the 10 voices in my head told me that, and they are always right (well, 90% of the time).
