Hey,

I just wanted to get more info on the custom turbo kits there making for our car, from people that really know..

About a year ago people were saying go nitrous over SuperC , nitrous has a lot more potential...now, as of now to a lot of people turbo knocks them both out of the water... Ive seen dynos of TurboMax at like 350 HP at 6 psi , that's awesome... But does anyone know when were going to see time slips, from a turbo Maxima?

Thanks ChRi§

Yeah, its kwl that as the days go by so many new things are coming out for our cars, turbo, cams, but you would think if turbo kits were all that for the maxima, more people would have them? I would really love to see some numbers soon.... I hope

Nice thinking moron. People don't have 5000 grand to throw around. And more people aren't getting them because they haven't been proven to last in the long run...

I got my clutch and flywheel in three weeks ago. I just installed my super AFC too so as soon as I get tuned I'll be at the track! I had some problems along the way. I just solved my super AFC problem. ... oh I need to get an NHRA approved battery tie down and cut off switch to be legal at the track ... sucks!

Why dont you go to the track on the night when its open to the public..on street legal night, they never check anything... oh yeah you think when you run at the track you can try diffrent boost settings, so we can aslo see the diffrence of what u run at 4 6 9 11 psi...

good luck to ya , i soo cant wait to see times!

outa curiosity turbo97se , did you look into standalone EMS at all for the maxima?

im curious because in the honda camp standalone is highly preferred for boost.. better for tuning & reliability compared to piggyback systems.....

also, i'm assuming you had a custom manifold made?

Buy in on a stand-alone for a maxima is over $1,000. Installation plus tuning would be another $500 at least. Not cheap to say the least.

Plus he's probably fairly clost to the limits of the stock bottom end anyway.

whether my wife knows it or not, those letters are the key to my heart congrats on the swap man!! that is awesome you got it running (even for a couple minutes) and all. just outta curiousity, what compression ratio does the vq30det have stock? (never seen specs on it) if it's lower than ours, which most turbo nissans are built for hella boost, then that just makes my mouth water even more.

The Vq30det, had about 280 hp at 6 psi, and about 285 torque, if i remember right, there is really no diffrence in this motor, or throwing on a turbo on your stock motor... the only diffrence is the Vq30det has stronger insides made for the turbo and can handel higher boost

I really would like to see it done, and i really think it can be done

peformance wise its all there...now with turbo, and cams and everythin coming out day by day, traction is whats going to have to be worked around

maxima wont get into 10's unless its 100% stripped to the bare metal chassis...

and even then it will be difficult

there are VERY FEW daily driven street legal civics that are in the 10's.. and even then they have major weight reduction done.

Biggest difference is the intake manifold has no runners, and the pistons are 8.5.1 compression = more boost...

Congrats Tilley.
