I know that the 96 Max is less restricted than that of the 98/99. What changes can be made to the newer models that can make the restrictions the same and make the newer models just as fast as the earlier models. I have a 98 and people on this forum seem to agree that the 95/96 are a bit faster. What can be done to change this. Any simple mods???

Just Wondering!!??

I think many agree that the reason the 95-96 Max is a little quicker is because it runs on lighter 15" wheels, most 95/96 don't have ABS (lighter weight), the 95/96 is slightly lighter, and the exhaust on the 95/96 is a bit less restrictive. All this can add up to a .2-.3 difference in the 1/4 mile between years. My 96 Max felt a bit quicker than the 97-98s I test drove and my Max felt A LOT quicker than the 99 I test drove.

Mods

Ya definetly get the y-pipe, maybe a B-pipe and a muffler too. Team that with an intake and you'll be all set.
