Apex WS catback fitment question

From the posts that I have seen about the Apex WS exhaust there seems to be some sort of fitment issue with either the, correct me if I'm wrong, lack of an O2 sensor or the exhaust tip being a bit too short. I've also heard that there needs to be some sort of welding to be done to install it, I was hoping to install it myself.

I just wanted to know from some of the guys who have the WS exhaust what types of problems or any tips you may have in installing the exhaust. I have a '97 Maxima with intake and a Cattman Y-Pipe. Thanks guys!

My apex didn't come with an O2 sensor hole and I never put it in. It is also about an inch or so too short and it is discoloring my bumper. I have yet to fix the problem because I'm getting the car painted, but before I do I will go to the exhuast shop to have it extended.

The APEX'i WS was made for the 95-96. If you put it on the 97-99 it will be a bit shorter and will not have the o2 hole.

About that; this is copied from the APEX'i site.

Nissan
104-KN03 Maxima 94-96 $499.00

I'm not sure where you're seeing that it has 97-99 applications, but please tell me if you find anything that does say it has 97-99 applications.

I suppose that the part about the welding to make it properly fit a '97 is where the extention comes into play. I've also read that they can weld on a O2 sensor hole as well if that bothers you.

I have the WS on my 97 it just required the o2 sensor to be put in the b-pipe no biggie
the tip isnt as long as some would like it... mine fits flush with the bumper, I like it like that.
sometimes i notice a little bit of black residue from my dirty exhaust but my car is black so its no biggie

Yo what up Malik, its been way too long eh? I was thinking of getting the WS but that's probably going to be delayed a little bit, I'm probably going to put some rims on my car first cuz my tires have about -20 pct tread left , Any suggestions?

fitment on 95-96 is perfect. 97+ is a little short but nothing too bad.

i just bought my apexi ws cat back today, paid a little to much but it was in stock and didnt have to worry about shiping or anything, im puting it on tomorrow, it should go pretty easy right, im thinking the hardest part is going to be breaking the old bolts from the cat and mines a 96 so it should just fit right into place

i ended up paying about 500 for it...mines a 96 and i put it on yesterday, i like it, it is a pretty quiet system though but once i get y pipe it should be just the right sound for me ya know...loud exhausts usually really **** me off, the apex makes a nice little hum when driving around normal. installing went pretty smooth after geting old exhaust off, i had no problems with hangers or sensors, everything fit fine and doenst fall short of the rear bumper like i heard from everyone else but that could also be because mines a 96 and not 97+

True, I guess that's what I heard about welding the pipe on 97-99 models. I'm glad you like the exhaust, I've heard from everyone that its the best exhaust for the maxima.

Ok to recap:

Apexi is the quietest exhaust and was originally made for the 95-96, but with some modifications can fit 97-99
