I'm very happy that I received it today. Steve did a good job to send it out as fast as he could. (I wish I could've gotten a Frankencar sticker though, )

anyway, I read in another thread that chigga had a crack in the base of one of the smaller tubings on the midpipe.

I was in the process of installing it at this moment (midnight) but I wasn't sure how the MAF attached to the midpipe. So I double checked the pics online, and proceeded downstairs to my garage again. To my disappointment, I saw a black mark at the base of the thinnest metal tube, and I felt it with my nail. I realized I have a crack too. A pretty big one at that. It probably goes 2/3 around the weld, and it seems like I can easily snap it off if I'm not careful.

If anyone else has experienced this problem, please let me know. Hey Steve, I hope you got my PM about this...hopefully you have a quick solution of what I should do. Would tape work? lol...I really want to test this thing out tomorrow but it seems like I can't for now.

 

if you shined a flashlight in the tube, can you see any light shining out of the crack? I think that my PR cai has that same black line on the base of the lil tube but I have no problems. Ill look at it again tommorow.

 

It sux, because I can move the little straw pipe back and forth. So I know it's cracked...

I wish I knew how to do some minor welding...

 

why dont you EXCHANGE it....

when you buy stuff NEW there shouldn't be a need for the end user to repair it.

just in case steve reads this, this is in no way meant to be negative towards steve. i don't know if the crack was there from when i 1st opened it or from me mis handling it. just don't want this to get out of hand. steve if u can help it would be much appreciated.....
