I have several people wanting a Max after taking them for a ride in mine. This guy I smoked in an Xtreme is like, in love with my car and my best friend just wants to run it at the track and burn tires whenever he gets the chance. He's told me like 10 times that he wants my car. and the guy with the Xtreme said my car was faster than his truck before I even got into 3rd gear. So, I do consider my car fast compared to what I've ridden in and all that stuff so um,,,yea, what is my point in replying? i dunno. lol

Nice car dude........

All I can say about Jason (bigsadler), you got to compare an apple to an apple...not an apple to an orange...and if they're both apple...make sure they have the same freshness. (95-97 max VS 2002 cars???)

Yup, Maxima's look slow, especially mine, you can check my sig for that.

I just got my 5-speed in 2 days ago guys. Jason (bigsadler)..PLEASE shut your mouth. You DON'T know what your talking about. Automatic Maxima's are slow from a stop. Your car is probubly slow. When I had my automatic I couldn't even squeek the tires off the line. Now that my 5spd is in I SPIN ALL THE WAY THROUGH 1ST GEAR. No joke! The 5-speed is so so powerfull. My car, with it's current mods, would do 0-60 in low 6's with an average/good driver, and in around 5.8 with theblue driving. I suggest you go take another ride in Chaz's Maxima before you open your mouth again...although he drove mine and said mine is faster.

I'm going to make a HUGE thread about my conversion...I just need to get my pictures developed...don't worry guys I didn't forget.

Well, I think the Maximas don't look fast just because people think that once it has 4 doors it would've been faster if it were made a coupe. Compared to v6's of that year, I can say it pretty much beats out some of the competition. Of course M3's are quick, but they were made that way, not like our so called "4-Door Family Car" to some people. Of course the 5-spds are way faster than the autos, and that's another reason why I think the Maxima is a good car, not many imports have 5-spds with a v6, at least I know Accords don't. Around here there are tons of people not into imports and claim that their Impalas or Cadillac's since they have a bigger engine can take out a Max. Well, that's just what happened with this one guy who happened to p!ss me off. At a light, a teenager in his daddy's '98 Cadillac STS (32valve Northstar V8, about 300hp, 295 torque, 4000 lbs.) has his window down and his rap music blasting, turns down his radio and yells to me, "I'll crush that little piece of ****!". I look over and I'm like, "Yea, ok." knowing that in some mags and drivres that they happen to run 15.1-15.2's in the 1/4 mile. As for myself, I run consistent 15.1's. Light turns green and I jump out about a car length on him and we take it up to about 110, or at least he did because I believe they are governed at about 110 or 115, while I continued to 125 and let off. I never pulled after the 1 car-length jump, but he never caught up, basically even the whle time, but I was ahead because of my launch, I'm guessing that 1000 lbs. he has over me hurt him just a little. At the next light, he's like "Yo man, I almost had you!" and after hearing that, I had to hit him with the F&F line "You almost had me? You never had your car." He laughed because he knew exactly where that line came from and then he was like "For real, I should've beat you, I got a v8." I'm like "Just because you got a V8 doesn't mean your gonna beat me, you better do your homework, your lucky I'm not a 5spd, I would've definitely pulled on you." He was like "Alright man, see you around." and that was that, but that's a perfect example of people who think that the Maxima is slow, and just because they have emblems on their trunk stating "V8" doesn't necessarily mean they're fast. As for now, I'm in the process of making my car look fast, but to some people, starting off with 4 doors will never make a car look fast.

Bro, bad time with spinning through 1st...no duh. My point was the POWER is there! The fact that I can rip my tires to shreds when I could barely get a womanly squeek before with my autotragic says alot. I mean, the 5-speed: 1)Weighs about 30-50lbs. less than the auto, 2)Shorter first gear 3)Puts more power/torque to the wheels....I mean it gives you DIRECT connection to your engine. Well anywhoo my point was the car is alot faster now so i'll leave it at that.

What's with you and 0-60 times? 1/4 time is more important.
I expect this statement from the torqueless imports like the honda's who say this becuase they CAN'T get good 0-60 times. But seriously it's a matter of opinion and while 1/4th times are cool, which time is more realistic to your driving in real life? I mean, you can't test out your 1/4th hardly anywhere on the streets, but you sure can test out your 0-60.

Speaking of which Craig, you should race your new 5spd at the track one day. Then, we'll see how fast you are exactly. As you know, talk is cheap.
I will someday. Right now I have to worry about downshifting. I am still scared to do it because I don't know how to control the power without the car violently shaking.

Well Craigy, it's great that you got your 5spd swap. I guess I'm more jealous than anything.

Sadly, a 5spd swap will not be in the plan for me. I rather just buy another car with a manual tranny later on.

Well remember i'm 2 hours away from you and I still need to learn the concept of downshifting better and what not. In the meantime you can ask Chaz about it..

And I agree about the winning by an inch thing. When street racing, MANY times the faster car loses. Just by simply getting a better launch, getting a head start, shifting better, downshifting, quicker, ect. can allow you to take the lead. Drivers skill is the main part.

Agreed.

It took the IS300 another year or two to finally get a manual, and the same for the CL-S. And I think you still can't get a 5-spd, V6 accord.

I'm glad that Nissan has offered a 5spd/6spd, even though to some it's considered a luxury car.

THe only thing that got me about the bigsadlers comment is that he was saying the maxima is slow and then spews off how much faster the BMW 330 is and the two acura type S's. Then he has the audacity to say even the 2k2 is slow stock. Im sorry but a 2k2 would eat his little bimmer alive, along with the type-S's. These cars are all in the same class as the VQ30 cars. People have ran 14.8's stock in there 5speed 4th gens. BMW 330 would be lucky to break the 15's. I've been to rivercity raceway in San Antonio texas, and saw several new LS1 camaro z28's and SS's run 14.5's at the track. This was 3 or 4 different camaors making multiple runs. THis is also a near sea level track. So saying maximas are slow is ridiculously dumb and speaks alot about your knowledge on cars.
