I feel like such a newbie =).

I was under the impression the 4th gens had a timing chain, not a belt. B/c of this, they don't need that $300 service at 60k miles just to replace the belt like on my old Accord and most imports. This post says you've got to replace the timing belt at 60k though...

Can someone set the record straight?

Thanks.

95+ Maximas do not have a timing belt. They have a timing chain which never needs to be replaced.

I think 92-94 SE's also have timing chains.
