white altezzas??

I have a 97 SE with chrome altezzas and someone was telling me that I should paint the chrome part white. I was just wondering if anyone on here with a white max has done something like that before.. if so where do you get something like that done. thanks a lot.

Paint them the color of your car. You mask over the circles and paint the rest.

i have never heard of any places that do that kind of stuff. i would just say to do it yourself, or have a fellow .org member help you with it

Is there a way to take off the lens and paint the acctual chrome part body color? Just a thought...interesting to see what it would look like.

Is the paint that is at paintscratch.com the closest match to white that anyone has found?

also.. on white maximas is the tri-coat necessary or can you get by with the primer, clear coat, and the spray paint?

actually, one word of wisdom. some states require the side market in tezzas. technically, IL requires them, so i had a local body shop mask off around the main lights and where the corner lights are and paint them. it only cost me $60, not to mention i had them paint the sealant around the tails so it was a very seamless look. if you have any additional questions, email me! also, good luck getting a matching sidemarker bulb. i've got some cheap apc red 194's in there because pretty much everything didn't match.

ok this might be a little too late but if not here i what you do. Or what i did. i have a 96. i took the altezza off and put them in the oven. BUT BUT dont do this what your under the influence of any drug cause you'll forget about it like me and they'll melt alittle and well there went 150$ but i think I MIGHT fix them somehow. well after they get warm the glew will too and it will be so much easier to take off the lens of the light. and then just paint and ......

^^
Mine looks pretty nice from like... far away...
but as you get closer, you can see the painting difference.
first ask your body shop if they get fit the Pearl white.. if you have it...
I didn't do the whole tricoat thing because I really didn't have money at the time. Mine is just the paint and clear coat.
I am thinking of going to a body shop and getting the paint color to match perfectly.

i've ruined two pairs of altezzas trying to open them up. i'm pretty sure it can't be done without damaging the lense.

see i had friend over from home and i forgot all about them. i did the out-side right light first without heat other then a lighter for some parts. and the rest (3)i did a week later and they got a *** bit deformed. its very easy just dont let them sit in there for loner the 1 hrs like i did. but the temp. wasnt that high so some damage was done not alot. but enought that it'll look gay if i was to put them on. i'll see if i could get you some pics. hihi
