I am interested in cleaning my throttle body to hopefully help the shifting/idling in my '95 auto. I did a search, and it seems that at least a few people have had problems after cleaning their TB, and some have attributed it to what they used to clean it with. Some say that you should use carb. cleaner. but others say that you should use something else. Once and for all.... what is safe to use?

Go to your local pep boys or such and get a throttle body cleaner not carb cleaner.

 

I checked Pep Boys (hastily) when I was last there, and didn't see any. I'll take a closer look this time. Thanks
