I was just wondering, I like drag racing, but I acutely think Autocrossing would be more stress because your on it longer, for many laps, then just being on it for like 15 SEC of less on the drag strip..

What do you guys think?

Definitely autox, unless you've got some eq under the hood that's battering the engine/drivetrain.

The VQ can take my abuse, stock. Can't say the same for the stock suspension

I'd say drag racing shocks the drivetrain much more, especially looking at the way people post about chirping gears. Overall, I think autocross stresses the entire car more.

Thats a tough question... in drag racing you have hard launches which you don't have in autox, however in autoX you often have downshifts at rather high speed to 1st gear (higher than you normally would on the street anyhow.) Overall I'd say the tranny abuse is about the same, but autoX also has suspension abuse so I'd say autoX is rougher. On the other hand you can get pretty severe wheelhop at the drag strip too which is not exactly good for the car.

You also have to think about down time in drag racing, when you are not racing you want the car to cool down, going from hot to cold to driving it hard again puts stress on the engine. But overall I would say auto-x puts more overall stress on the car.

drag DEFINITLY kills more trannys than auto-x, but the max takes a LOT of work to be able to do decent (let alone well) in the corners
