Problem with PaceSetter STS

Hey all,

The problem isn't that that big... but it did scare
the freaking crap out of me.

I was driving and shifting decently quickly. I went from 3rd into 4th gear and gunned it, i change out of 4th and blang! i hear this wicked scary sound. I leave it in neutral and i see a set of lights up ahead to slow down to... I play with the shifter and it's like butter. I can move the shifter around neutral like it's attached to nothing. I start getting nervous. When i get to the lights I clutch in and attempt first gear, clunk, it goes in... same with the other gears. I try first again, and slowly try to move foreward. No problem it works. WTF? finally i realise what hapenned, the spring broke!

i know i know... no need for the long story ;-) hehe

anywho... warning, if ever you hear a noise and you shifter moves easily, your spring broke. anywho, now i need a new spring, though i gladly accept this new found shifting freedom. Except going from 2nd to 3rd is hard, since no spring brings the shifter back to center anymore.

I think i'll go with a more springy spring now, this way it won't be as hard as before to shift, yet still bring the stick back to center.
