remove spoiler from trunk...any other options?

i want to remove the spoiler from my 96 se. is there any other way to do this other than buying a new trunk? what's the easiest way? should i look for one at a junk yard or try to trade with someone? what do you guys think?

when you take the spoiler off, there will be holes remaining. the only options you really have are to weld the holes closed, do the body work and repaint OR get a trunk lid without a spoiler. it is much easier to put a spoiler on than take it off.

since you're just about the only guy in the world who'd rather not have a spoiler on his maxima, just find someone with the same color max who doesn't have a spoiler and swap...he'll think it's too good to be true and he'll inspect the trunk meticulously to see if maybe theres some hidden damage cause who the hell would rather have a spoilerless trunk. but after abount ten minutes of speculation he'll say are you sure you wanna do this and you'll say yeah so he'll make an appointment for like now before you change your mind for some reason. it shouldn't be that hard. but WHY

well actually i want to put a different spoiler on. i've been looking for one that isn't too ricey but more attention grabbing than the oem one. i might get the wings west one or something but not the one that came with the car.

Actually, the 4th gen Max STILL looks nice without a spoiler, kind of elegant.

For the road speeds we drive at in North America (well, supposed to be driving at..), the spoilers and airdams do not contribute much beyond basic cosmetics.

The car companies and the aftermarket caught on to our obsession with doo-dads, and cha-ching goes the cash registers and - spoilers on freaking Neons?, Cavi's?, Corrollas?... sheesh...

Some with a bodykit, proper rims, and dropped, look better without the spoiler IMO.
