Replacement for intake accordion?

The 4th gen I have like all have the accordion style connector leading into the TB. I was searching and hoped to ask what options we have available for purchase to replace that item only?

Any takers? Mind you I don't want to buy a CAI or new intake setup...just to replace the accordion.

When people talk about "hybrid intakes" this is exactly what they are talking about. Search for that and you will find about 4,375,378,489,738,975,893,274^938,475,938,798,345 threads.

You will not gain any HP from replacing that section. How about buying a midpipe and replacing from the TB to the MAF, but you will not see any gains either, but it will be louder because you would be taking out the resonator. The midpipe is 55shipped from www.frankencar.com . I am not sure why you would want to do this or if the midpipe will fit into a MAF connected to an airbox. I'd say just keep it the way it is if its not broken. If it is broken, then just get an intake for $135.

You can make your own for $15, buy it from Frankencar for $65 shipped, or buy it from Place Racing for $80 shipped. IMO the home-made one is too ghetto (I wouldn't risk the reliability of my engine for saving a few $10s), and the Place Racing is not worth the extra money over Frankencar. Hence I suggest Frankencar, and believe me this is one mod you will like.

Seven: Can't say I have read about silicon reducer before but I can ask around.

Nealoc: Obviously when I wrote that I was searching. You imply that I did not...nothing much more than about 20 threads matched accordion. So there.

JSL: I am not looking to gain HP...I have other aesthetic reasons along with functional needs for this inquiry.

I have sent Steve (FrankenCar) a note asking about the upper connector.

Obvooiusly I overestimated the value of asking...so much for getting help in return after all the times I tried to help. Whatever.

if you want to get rid of the accordian part just get the upper intake tube from ebay, frankencar, place racing or WSP. i think frankencar is the cheapest with good finish

I was not implying that you had not searched but rather that you perhaps weren't searching with the correct key words. What you should search for is upper intake piping or hybrid intake... not accordion. I was trying to help you out but since you are being a d!ck about it I guess my help wasn't appreciated. Good luck replacing your "accordion". Perhaps knowing what the to search for next time might be helpful. But obviously you know much more than I do about the subject so.....
