Can't find shocks for the hood!

I have checked with pretty much all my local parts store and have had no luck with finding the shocks that hold up your hood. Does anyone know where I can get a hold of one?

Mighty expensive from Nissan, about $70.00 ea. I, personally, use a vise gripping tool to hold up mine. It's not worth buying new ones because they don't actually last that long. But, you can search under the Org. titled "Maintenance Items" and find equivalents for the factory hood lifts.

Autozone is where most people seem to get their hood struts replaced. I went there and ordered the pair a few months ago. They had the struts in the next day. Installation is really simple I think they even come with instructions if your not sure how to do it. My hood stays open from half way to all the way up. They are of good quality. Here's the link

lol, i stole hood struts from car i stripped for conversion...feel god about it cause they jipped me with the price htey charged me for all parts...go to junkyards, you will definitely find cars that were hit in the front and a messed up hood, they would let you get the struts since they have no use of it...a lot cheaper than dealership.....

I have the same problem. One of my shocks leaked oil or whatever the hell is in there and i can't keep it up. I saw em at a local carpart store here for 30 bucks... too expensive for me. I think ill take a trip to the junkyard and find one there. If i can't, then i'll just get myself the damn stick that keeps the hood up

Go to http://www.partsamerica.com and search for 'strong arm' They are less than $16 each! Work well so far...

And in case the previous threads aren't helpful enough:

Nissan OEM: 65470-40U00 (Left), 65471-40U00 (Right)
Strong Arm: 4254

If you want to purchase some locally, these are what the various Auto Parts stores may refer to them as instead of Strong Arm #4524, though they all cost around the same:
NAPA Auto Parts: 819-4737
Autozone: 95784 (Mighty Lift)
Kragell: 072-862 (Steady Lift)
Car Quest: 4524
