Frankencar vs. Fast Lane Performance

The reason for this post is so I don't buy one and find out that the other was the one I should have gotten. You know how that feels.
My question is which intake is better for my 96 Auto GLE? How?
Thanks in advance.

I'll offically be outta Kuwait in 24 Days!!!!

I've never heard of Fast Lane Performance, but intakes are intakes. As long as they are similar in design (CAI vs CAI or HAI vs HAI) you will see similar gains. Assuming they are similar designs, get the one that's cheaper (or has a better filter if you are concerned about that).

yeah, these designs are all very similar. The main differences are overall length, tortuosity of the pathway to the throttle body, and source of the incoming air. The CAI gets cold air from the fender well, is relatively long, and has a couple of bends (mandrel bent though). Ingen gets warm air from the front of the car, near the radiator, has a couple of bends, and is relatively long. Fast Lane sources air from where the stock battery sits and the length is shorter than Ingen or CAI (but apparently is adjusted according to customer wishes) and has gentle bends. Franken and upper CAI-pipe hybrids are straight, medium length and source air near where the stock filter box is located. Pop-chargers are the shortest in length and may or may not benefit from a milled "velocity" stock at the opening. Some may use the stock accordian section, others eliminate it.

Long length reportedly maintains low-end torque while sacrificing high end breathability. Short length, just the opposite. Hybrids seek to balance the two.

I hear Frankencar is the Shizz. So I Ordered the Midpipe Yesterday to throw with my K&N filter. Everyones sayin the Midpipe brings the low end back, and I really need it back cause I lost it. Its a diffrence you can tell!

i personally like it for the sound..so quiet but so loud at WOT like i want my car to be. Also for a HAI the dynos steve ran were impressive i honestly think an intake still only adds 2-3 hp but i got it for the sound and so the engine could breath easier. Im positive that when i get my apexi catback and budget ypipe i will feel some gains.

ok, so people seem to like the sound but how does it perform low end and high end compared to other intakes?

I don't think any other intake has been able to touch the top-end output of ours. Also, the sound of ours is way louder/deeper than any other. Please IM me for questions or details.

You are not correct. Look at other posts about our intake. It will tell you, that ours has a different tone to it.

Keep in mind that you are pulling air from under the hood but when your moving the air is colder than when you are just idling. The velocity of the air moving through the pipe makes the air colder too.
