Driving with no Air Filter - what to do?

Ok Guys, the cone filtere on the car fell off (Bumpy roads) and drove about 120 miles from the cottage home with out it on.

1. What harm did I do to the engine
2. What should I do to get rid of the impurities that may have gone into the engine....i.e. fluid changes, cleaning throttle body?

BTW, it wasn't in the max...but my other car.

Thanks GUys

Don't worry too much about it, because the car still works. Change the oil and filter if need be. That's probably the only thing you can do, really, unless you want to re-build the motor, but that's not warranted. Just get a filter on there, and secure it very well this time. How some the previous one fell off?? Whenever I put on air filters, the clamping between rubber and steel is so tight, a major earthquake in Cali could not get them off. In fact, when performing maintenance, I have a bit of a hard time getting the filter off. Figure out what's going wrong with securing the filter.

lol

When you put on your cone filter again put a panty hose on it first then the filter that way if your filter does fall off you have back-up. Redundency is good! Just don't tell anybody your car wears panty hose if you do.
