I want to replace all the interior carpet in my SE due to the previous owner's sloppy kids. Have any of you guys done this? Is carpet only available from the dealer, or is aftermarket carpet available?

did u get them shampooed and steam cleaned @ a detailer?

 

Well, no I didn't. Their are several very serious stains on which I tried all sorts of cleaning solutions to no avail, but I haven't tried the steam cleaning route. Good suggestion, though - it's definitely worth trying before I rip out the old carpet and put in new.

 

Since you're considering steam cleaning, I say find a place that will stand behind their work. They should be able to inspect the condition of the carpet and tell you what their expectations are. Another thing they 'might' do is steam clean a spot and if you're happy with the results, have them finish it off.

I think it'll be cheaper than replacing the entire carpet (the carpet is molded and padded to fit the floor surfaces).
