Wire Harnes Melted Again

Ok my wire harness for my driver side headlight melted again. I put regular bulbs in now. Before I was just running the same voltage but hyper white, and the outer most pin always melts. Anybody know why this is? Thanks!

I'd be willing to bet it's your ground.

Ad in addition to the ground, you didn't indicate whether the hyper white bulbs are overwattage or not.

If they're overwattage and you are not using an overwattage harness, that's your problem too. Stock wiring cannot handle current & heat from overwattage bulbs.

The bulbs are not overwattage. They have melted twice now, both times on the same peg, the outer most one on the driverside headlight. So most likely the ground? Or could it maybe be a deffective lightbulb? I used the saem bulb after switching the harness.

Heheh, hyper white doesn't necessarily mean overwattage right?

And as elcid indicated, they are not overwattage.

Elcid, you could swap bulbs and see if you melt the other side too (then it's the bulb)

Or check the darn ground ... use regular bulbs maybe?

purchase better quality bulbs.......stay away from e-bay bulbs that claim " new material that will not melt your harness/housing" or something like that

Ya I'll try swapping the bulbs I guess. See if it was the bulb or not. First I have to go buy another harness. If it still burns I'll check the ground. By the way the bulbs I had where "eurolite" brand? Not the best I know
